Geneva is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region. At the junction of Rts. 5 & 20 and 14, Geneva is directly south of NYS Thruway exit 42, situated at the northern tip of Seneca Lake. The Seneca-Cayuga Canal connects Seneca Lake with Cayuga Lake, linking Geneva, via the State Barge Canal, to the waterways of the world. Facilities abound for golf, tennis, boating and water sports, not to mention winter sports.
 
Other Geneva attractions include sailboat races, college sports, bowling alleys, theatres, boat tours and charters, antique and specialty shops, nearby auto races and thoroughbred races, farmers markets, flea markets and many area festivals throughout the year. Geneva is also the perfect place to begin your tour of the Finger Lakes wine trails, with 36 wineries surrounding Seneca Lake. The Finger Lakes Region boasts 88 wineries with vineyards covering over 10,000 acres.
