Leadership Geneva
Leadership Geneva Class of 2007 Announces Class Project:
The Leadership Connection (TLC) 1000
Mission:
The Leadership Geneva Class of 2007 is committed to building connections within the Geneva community by providing a minimum of 1,000 hours of community service to organizations or individuals in need.
Significance:
This year’s theme is “We are all connected”. The class realized immediately that its project should reach out to as many parts of the community as possible. After much debate, it became clear that the best way to do that was to seek out multiple organizations in need of help, no matter how much or how little, and offer our time as a team of 18 capable volunteers. Although previous Leadership classes have left behind something of more tangible value, the Class of 2007 is confident that it will make a difference to those it serves over the next seven months.
Execution:
The goal of 1,000 hours is achievable. The class has already pledged well over 100 hours to worthy projects in the months of November and December, with other activities likely to be finalized in the coming weeks. Future opportunities for late winter and early spring are already being pursued. Volunteer activities will be arranged weeks, if not months, ahead of time to make things easier for all parties involved.
1,000 hours is the minimum standard the class has set for itself. The internal objective is to exceed the stated goal of 1,000 hours.
- 18 people X 8 hours per month X 7 months = 1008 hours
