109th Annual Dinner

The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce recently honored Hobart and William Smith Colleges as the Business of the Year. This award was given at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner, sponsored by The Lyons National Bank. The event, held Friday, January 27th at Club 86 in Geneva, had a record attendance of 320 people that came out to honor HWS as well as celebrate the beginning of a new year for the Chamber.

 

Mark Gearan, President of HWS, thanked the Chamber and Geneva for the award and for being a great host to the Colleges. The presentation showed not only how important the Colleges are to Geneva, but also how important Geneva is to the Colleges. After President Gearan was honored with the Business of the Year Award, Senator Nozzolio honored him with the New York State Liberty Award for his commitment to education and the community. This is one of the highest awards given by the NYS Senate.

 

The dinner also honored those Chamber members who have been members for 25 years. This award, the Silver Circle Award, was given to Gilles Enterprises, Dental Office of Edgar Prindle DDS, Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union, Junell Corp. and Keseca Veterinary Clinic.
